Budapest 5-day travel plan
Updated: Sep 18
With so much to see, eat and experience across Budapest, fitting everything into one trip can quickly become a task in itself. Having visited the city throughout childhood with my Hungarian family, and more recently returning as an adult with my partner - a first-time visitor - I’ve learnt which places I’d return to, which experiences are worth making time for, and how much can realistically be fitted into a day.
So, if you have five days to explore Hungary’s capital, this is how I’d spend them - balancing Budapest’s best-known landmarks and historical sites with great food, plenty of walking and some of the places that have made my own visits particularly memorable.
